Here are several ways you can stay fresh during the summer months<br \/>\n.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #339966; font-size: 16pt; text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>Your music team<br \/>\n.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Refresh\u00a0 choruses your praise\/musicians team learned over the past year but didn\u2019t quite \u201cjell.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Review songs you want to incorporate into music program in coming months.\u00a0 By listening and learning just one or two songs during the summer months, you\u2019ll be prepared to start your fall music program with a whole lot less stress!<\/li>\n<li>Find out when your musicians and praise singers have scheduled their summer vacations.<\/li>\n<li>Plan to use less experienced singers and musicians to fill in.\u00a0 With enough time and preparation, even mediocre musicians can play for a few worship services.\u00a0 Begin training as soon as possible!<\/li>\n<li>Provide lead sheets to all of your fill-in musicians.<\/li>\n<li>Encourage fill-in musicians to play in children\u2019s church or Sunday School to get more experience.<\/li>\n<li>Sing \u201cre-runs\u201d or repertoire with which they are already familiar. \u00a0However you MUST go over parts again to refresh them.<\/li>\n<li>Cut back on your choir practice schedule to every other week or once a month.\u00a0 Don\u2019t cut choir completely out!\u00a0 It is hard to re-motivate the choir into activity again! Use smaller groups such as duets, trios, ensembles, and chorales to fill in your music schedule.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #339966; font-size: 16pt; text-decoration: underline;\">Your Personal Musicianship&#8230;.<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you only play with chords or by ear, teach yourself to read notes! Learn to sing intervals and identify them by ear.
